A whole fan page on Facebook for straw bale gardening!
Learn to Grow a Straw Bale Garden
The creator lives in Minnesota, my old stomping grounds, and there's lots of info, plus he has a website.
He uses ammonium nitrate (a type of fertilizer) in place of legume inoculant, otherwise very similar to other attempts I've read. BUT - lots of great photos of mature bale gardens and ideas for doing fencing.
I'm in heaven!

YAY!!! Did you see the link I put up (I mentioned you)? Homegrown.org has a whole thing about straw bale gardening!
ReplyDeleteI did see the Thank-you for the tile - nd I could have just as easily said "thank you" for taking it - when I boght it I was afraid there wouldnt be enough, so of course there was way too much. Still looking for a home for the 12"'ers. We did our kitchen floor and countertop in tile too - love it - cuts the summer temps down about 10-15 degrees. Meant to ask you in, but we have those obnoxious dogs. Off to check out homegrown.org
